Resisting Impulsive Binge Eating: What will be covered?
This webinar (online seminar) will explore and teach a DBT* psychologically-based approached to resisting impulsive binge eating. It is known as the RESISTT technique, and it focuses on specific steps to follow in order to practice resisting engaging in impulsive behaviour, such as binge eating.
As part of the webinar, you will work through the steps involved. You will also be encouraged to write down answers to specific questions as you follow along during the webinar.
This topic is suitable for people who binge eat frequently, whether or not this followed by compensatory/purging behaviour: Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, Compulsive Over-eating etc. It is not suitable for eating disorders where the primary concern is restrictive eating or compulsive exercise (e.g. anorexia).
This self-help technique is best used if you are also receiving psychotherapy, but can be used on its own.
