The innovative programme run at Crescent Clinic in Randburg includes psychotherapy, family therapy (if relevant), a specialised dietitian who creates an individual meal plan for each patient, art therapy, group therapy, relaxation and an exercise programme. The services of a GP (for health concerns), and psychiatrist are also offered. Progress is not determined by weight, but rather on emotional and psychological factors. The In-Patient programme runs for 6 weeks, and is followed up by Out-Patient treatment, therapy and a support group. At Tygerberg Clinic, patients see a treatment team which consists of a psychiatrist, psychologist, dietitian and psychiatric nurse. For In-Patient treatment, the length of stay is determined by the patient's progress and is based on a reward system. For Out-Patient treatment, the patient is assessed by the team and assigned a case manager to co-ordinate their treatment.

The Riverview Manor In-Patient programme runs for 6-8 weeks, depending on the needs of the patient. The programme includes individual therapy, group therapy and occupational therapy as well as integrating life skills training and relapse prevention.
