The innovative programme run at Crescent Clinic in Randburg includes psychotherapy, family therapy (if relevant), a clinical dietician who creates an individual meal plan for each patient, art therapy, group therapy, body image groups, relaxation and exercises. The team is made up of an occupational therapist, clinical psychologists, support counselor, psychiatrist, GP, addictions counselor, social worker and a personal trainer, all of whom are specialized in working with Eating Disorders. The programmes offered are aimed at helping patients feel safe with food and dealing with the underlying issues that they experience.   • Tara runs a behavioural eating-disorders programme, in which weight gain for anorexia, and a return to normal eating patterns are the central focus. Admission for the programme now has to be conducted via government hospitals with psychiatric facilities. Those who are based in Tara's surrounding areas, can be seen in the out-patient facility for admission assessment.
